Preparing our Hearts to Make "Love the First Motion."
(John Woolman)

Just as fear can be contagious, so too can courage. We will encourage one another as we gather in the Spirit and discern together how we are called to live in these challenging times. "Let us try what love can do." (William Penn)

The retreat will begin with supper on Friday, May 2nd, followed by our opening circle. There will be two sessions on Saturday (morning and afternoon) with an evening of festive fellowship and singing. Our Sunday morning session will be followed by Meeting for Worship and lunch. Departure is immediately after lunch.

Retreat participants will receive a detailed welcome email and pre-retreat exercise about one week before the retreat. If you have questions as the retreat nears, please contact the program registrar, Amy Schmaljohn at amy@schmaljohn.com.

The retreat will be held at the Shepherd's Spring Camp & Retreat Center near Sharpsburg, Maryland Claggett Center in Adamstown, Maryland. Spiritual nurture funds are available through both local Meetings and through the Yearly Meeting. The retreat welcomes all of us who seek a deeper life in and with Spirit.

Would you like to be able to handle conflicts, disagreements and tensions while staying grounded in our Quaker Faith and Practices? Friends Supporting Friends, a working group under BYM Ministry & Pastoral Care, invites you to attend a workshop on Saturday, May 3rd from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Sandy Spring Meeting. The workshop covers general concepts of dealing with issues/challenges/conflicts with others and links the process of doing so to our Quaker processes and beliefs that you can bring back to your monthly meeting. Open to anyone in the Yearly Meeting. We have a limit on the number of attendees, so please email Joan Liversidge at joanlive44@gmail.com as soon as you can if you are interested.
