William Penn House

Professional dancer and choreographer Margot Greenlee of BodyWise Dance has been working in healthcare settings for over a dozen years. Beginning at 6:30 pm, she will briefly discuss current projects at Walter Reed, Camp. The Dance for PD program is built on one fundamental premise: professionally trained dancers are movement experts whose knowledge is useful to persons with Parkinson's Disease. Dance for PD teaching artists integrate movement from modern and theater dance, ballet, folk dance, tap, improvisation, and choreographic repertory. Margot is a member of Friends Meeting of Washington and is a former member of Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, a company known for creating dance opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. She works extensively with children, seniors and veterans of the contemporary wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. For more information, see the William Penn House website. (williampennhouse.org/)

Friends Wilderness Center

Come spend a day of fellowship, good food (free lunch for all who volunteer), and celebration of the joys of autumn as we help Sheila reduce the ‘To Do’ list of chores around the Niles Cabin. Chores can include: window-washing, painting, brush clearing, wood cutting and stacking, and foundation planting. It’s fun, it’s time well spent outdoors, and it is much needed to keep the cabin and environs in good shape. Please let Sheila know you are coming so she may plan lunch accordingly. (304-728-4820 or snbach@earthlink.net) All FWC programs are offered free of charge, but we suggest a donation of $10.00 or more.
