The Human Rights Learning Project, a local coalition led by the AFSC, works with 160+ public school students every semester to help them learn about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in order to identify issues within their school, neighborhoods and community and then to develop projects to address those issues. Currently, the program works with eight interns from Georgetown, American University and Howard University in three local high schools: Wilson HS (NW), Dunbar HS (NE) and Friendship Collegiate (SE). Presenter Jean-Louis Ikambana serves as the Area Director of the American Friends Service Committee and overseas this program. William Penn House’s potlucks begin at 6:30 pm. Greenbrier Valley Worship Group invites Friends to join Friends from across West Virginia for a weekend of worship, fellowship, and good food. The cost is $45.00 per person and includes three meals and overnight accommodations in a cabin at the camp. Registration begins at 9:00 am Saturday morning.
