Many hands are needed to help prepare the Friends Wilderness Center for the coming winter. There are jobs available for Friends of all skill levels, and free lunch will provided for all workers.
The Friends of Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum and the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks are presenting a celebration of Benjamin Benneker's birthday entitled This is Your Life.
The museum is located at 300 Oella Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21228, just across the river from Ellicott City.
Virginia Schurman (Gunpowder Friends Meeting) will portray Quaker minister and elder Martha Ellicott Tyson (1795 - 1873). Tyson was an advocate for African-Americans and Native Americans; a friend and biographer of Benjamin Banneker; and a co-founder of Swarthmore College.
