BYM's Growing Diverse Leadership Committee, Reparations Action Working Group, and Working Group on Racism invite you to a special programmed Meeting for Worship on Saturday, March 12 at Noon by Zoom to hold in the Light how slavery in the US was experienced by those enslaved and what this time in history means to people living today.

The experience of enslavement has been preserved in transcripts of interviews of people who were enslaved, in slave narratives, and in other writings. With open hearts, lifting together our discomfort and sorrow to the Spirit, let us listen to the words of people who experienced the pain, suffering, and sorrow of enslavement. Understanding facts about slavery is one thing, but opening our hearts to the experience of enslavement needs to be part of our shared consciousness as a community of Friends.

Let us come together as a community to hold in the Light this experience, and to seek the Spirit’s guidance for our life together, now and as we move into the future.

Registration is required.
