Poetry for the New Year

Saturday, February 9, 2019
10:00 am3:00 pm
Friends Wilderness Center (Harpers Ferry, WV)

FWC Board Member Hayden Mathews will lead a poetry program at the Niles Cabin in which he and program participants will share poems (or short prose excerpts) that offer spiritual and emotional sustenance to buoy us up in these turbulent times. The intent of this gathering is to embody the FWC’s tag line, ‘Relax, Renew, Recharge,’ by sharing words that will help those gathered to do exactly that. They may be your own words or those of another poet or writer as long you feel as they provide sustenance, resilience, and/or clarity for application in the year ahead. A home cooked lunch will be available for $10 if you ask for it when you RSVP to Sheila Bach by telephone at 571.271.6267 or by email at snbach@earthlink.net. For first-time visitors: PLEASE consult the Directions Page on the FWC website (www.friendswilderness.org) for written directions to the Niles Cabin as some GPS programs may not provide proper directions over the last 1.5 miles of road.
