The Baltimore American Indian Center at 113 S. Broadway, presently has an exhibit on Carlyle (Pennsylvania's) Native Industrial School founded in 1874. On Wednesday, November 16 Paula Palmer, a Quaker from Bolder, Colorado who is a sociologist, writer and activist for human rights/social justice and environmental protection will be speaking on the Quaker Indian Boarding Schools - Facing our History and Ourselves. The talk will be at 7:00pm to 8:30pm. The talk is free. Paula is the Director of Toward Right Relationship with Native Peoples and has been traveling around the country with workshops for adults and Middle and High School students discussing our history of dealings with the Native population.
