Washington Friends Conference on Religion and Psychology

Friday, February 22, 2013Sunday, February 24, 2013
Claggett Center (Buckeystown, MD)

“The Plastic Brain,” will be a three-day conference with Margee Iddings as plenary speaker. Plenary sessions will explore what neuroscientists are learning about the brain and what neurotheologians are learning about “brain changers” that come from disciplined use of spiritual practices. Join us as we examine, explore, and experience how practicing ancient spiritual disciplines can actually improve the brain. Margee Iddings enjoys designing experiential ways of exploring complex subjects, and has shared these at the Washington National Cathedral, in various adult education programs in DC area churches, and with students in medical studies at George Washington University. You’ll also choose one of five interest groups that will meet during the conference: Parsing the Plenary; Mandala Art to Awaken the Spirit; Mantra Movement; The Initiatory Mysteries; and Poetry, Meditation, and Movement.
