ICRD's CEO, James Patton, will give an informative presentation starting around 12:50 and wrapping up questions around 1:30. James is a Quaker who has worked for AFSC in various locations. The International Center for Religion & Diplomacy is an organization that bridges religious considerations with the practice of international policy in support of peacebuilding. We focus our work on the role of religion and religious actors in transforming violent conflict, although we are not, ourselves, a religious organization. Our current work includes: training faith and community leaders on conflict resolution, countering violent extremism and reconciliation in Yemen, Pakistan, Colombia and Morocco; reforming education to improve tolerance and critical thinking skills in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia; and improving the engagement with conservative faith actors in reducing radicalization and prejudice in Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen, Pakistan, Spain, Indonesia, Kenya and the US.
