Join Friends from around the country - including many from BYM - at Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania, just a few miles from Philadelphia, June 30 through July 6, 2024, for a time of rest, reflection, recentering, reconnecting, and worship. BYM has scholarship funds available to support the attendance of Young Friends (high school) and BIPOC Global Majority Friends. Email admin@bym-rsf.org for details. Meetings may also have funds available to support attendance of members and attenders.

At BYM's Annual Sessions, we will discern whether we are called to provide reparations for harms that our BYM Quaker ancestors caused to the Pawnee Nation in Oklahoma during the mid-1800's, as proposed by the Indigenous Affairs Committee.

This workshop, led by the Reparations Action Working Group (RAWG) will help Friends explore the meaning and purpose of reparations, including the spiritual aspects of repairing our relations.

Questions? Please submit your questions about reparations generally in advance to Marcy Seitel at friendmarcy@gmail.com and questions about the reparations request for the Pawnee Nation to Sue Marcus at akumaldreams@gmail.com. These sessions are particularly important for those representatives of monthly meetings who will be attending Annual Session.

BYM Friends are invited to join two workshops/informative sessions on Zoom leading up the BYM's Annual Session

This workshop, led by the Indigenous Affairs Committee (IAC), will delve into the proposal for reparations to the Pawnee Nation. This request for reparations was raised at BYM's June Interim Meeting. Friends needed more time to discuss the proposal with their monthly meetings, and the proposal will be discussed again at Annual Session. Register here.
